With an 7.2 channel setup, the RX-A4A delivers a surround sound experience using Dolby Atmos or DTS:X surround sound formats. Both formats are capable of giving you a rich and realistic surround sound, creating pinpoint accuracy in sound positioning in 5.1, including overhead sound with the Virtual Presence Speaker function. You can have rich, 3 dimensional sound without the presence of actual speakers, equivalent to 7.1. The RX-A4A comes with Yamaha Cinema DSP 3D, a unique sound field creation technology, combining measured sound field data with digital signal processing. The Cinema DSP reproduces the space of the concert hall with your home equipment, so you can immerse yourself in the breath-taking realism of your movies in a world of profound home cinema sound.

The RX-A4A AV receiver brings your visual experience to life, with HDR10+ for improved contrast, allowing you to see all the fast-paced action on the screen in detail.

Sound Optimisation

With Yamaha Parametric room Acoustic Optimiser, you can adjust the audio parameters depending on the acoustics of your room. YPAO with Reflected Sound Control will analyse the room acoustics and your system, then can fine-tune various parameters to provide the best sound for the room, correcting early reflections for quality sound. It also can adjust the Cinema DSP settings for the optimum performance. The system is activated by using the supplied microphone to analyse the sound in the room.

SURROUND:AI analyses the scene of the entertainment content and optimizes the surround effect of distinct sound elements such as background music, dialogue, and sound effects. It’s like having a professional sound engineer tune the sound according to the scene, all processed from 64-bit processing with Qualcomm QCS407.

There are many ways to listen to music, and the RX-A4A offers a variety of inputs for flexible listening. Stream your music directly through the AV receiver over the wireless Bluetooth connection, or link with Spotify Connect, Apple AirPlay, TIDAL, Deezer and more, with syncing capabilities from your smartphone or tablet.

Go Wireless

Now there’s no need for cables with wireless options available. The Yamaha AV receiver can combine with the MusicCast 50 or MusicCast 20 wireless streaming speakers to work as wireless surround speakers, without cables trailing across the room. The rear speakers create a fully immersive surround sound setup with stunning, realistic audio for you to completely enjoy your movies, music and shows.

With MusicCast, Multi-room audio becomes easy. Simply connect all the MusicCast devices to the network to play music throughout your home, all controlled through the free MusicCast app. For more wireless control, connect and Amazon Alexa voice control enabled device to use Alexa with the RX-A4A. Control the music, including volume, tracks and source input, as well as any multi-room connected speakers, just by using your voice.
